Combo Classes

Toddler (1.5-3) . Preschool (3-4) . Kinderdance (5-7) .

For our younger dancers, we combine the following styles…

Jazz • Tap • Ballet

In creative fashion, we utilize the imagination to incorporate fun elements of differing styles. We infuse each style with music that is age-appropriate, kid-friendly and focused, while bringing an understanding to basic steps needed for the preliminary dancer. We want our little ones to discover a love for dance while learning to point their toes, develop balance, recognize proper arm and foot placement and more!

Ballet

These classes incorporate all elements of classical ballet (including all vocabularly and definitions), with a particular focus on expanding flexibility, exemplifying grace and developing strong coordination through accute balance and control, proper arm and feet placement, directional changes, jumps and weight transfer. Includes barre, center and across the floor choreography.

Lyrical

Lyrical dance is emotion-based movement that is inspired directly from music lyrics while telling a story. Movement can be fluid or abstract. This class is designed for intermediate to advanced students with previous training in ballet. Students will explore partnering and weight sharing exercises combined with basic techniques and skills from ballet, jazz and modern. As students progress through each level the curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.

Jazz

These classes incorporate energetic turns, leaps, jumps, kicks and formation changes, all while developing strong technique, coordination, musicality, style, partner work, stage direction and more. Jazz students will focus on multiple fun and up-tempo styles, including energetic across the floor movement and choreography.

Tap

These classes incorporate traditional and modern forms of tap, expanding the dancer’s awareness of sound and rhythm, while developing their coordination through combinations with the feet, working in the center, and directional changes.

Hip Hop

These classes incorporate current, high-energy, stylistically diverse routines & warm-ups, while emphasizing upbeat choreography and movement across the floor. Hip Hop focuses on level changes, isolations, various techniques, learning to freestyle, including helping the dancer discover their own natural groove, style and taste. Work is done in groups and independently.

Acro Class

Acrobatic dance or “Acro” is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a modern dance context. Dancers will work on improving flexibility, balance and core strength, while developing tumbling skills.
